About Us

    The Institute of Transportation Engineers is an international society of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs.  ITE international has over 15,000 members in 90 countries and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.  ITE members are employees of government agencies, regional planning offices, consulting firms, educational institutions, product manufacturers, university students and other transportation related disciplines.     Since 1930, ITE has been providing transportation professionals with programs and resources for increased knowledge and advancement, including:

    • Professional development seminars
    • Technical reports
    • Monthly journals
    • Local, regional, and international conferences
    • Publication of technical manuals
    • Exchange of opinions, ideas, techniques, and research.


    The Wisconsin Section has approximately 300 members comprised of engineers, planners, technicians, administrators, students and product and service vendors.  ITE Wisconsin is affiliated with the ITE International.  The purpose of ITE Wisconsin shall be to enable transportation and traffic professionals in Wisconsin the ability to contribute towards:

    • The exchange of professional information      
    • The support and encouragement of education
    • The stimulation of research
    • The development of public awareness
    • The maintenance of a centralized point of action


    The Wisconsin Section provides many opportunities for transportation professionals to come together, learn more about the profession and participate in social activities.  New members are always welcome!
